Getting started as a member
You joined a server that uses HoneyGate — here's what that means and what you can do.
You're in a Discord server that uses HoneyGate. Good news: there's almost nothing you need to do. HoneyGate runs quietly in the background, handing out roles, tracking your activity, and running games and giveaways. This guide shows you the things you can do to get the most out of it.
You don't have to set anything up
The server owner has already configured HoneyGate. For most features you just keep using the server normally — chatting, reacting, joining voice — and HoneyGate notices. There's no app to download.
The two ways you'll use HoneyGate
- Right inside Discord, using slash commands. Type
/in any channel and a menu of commands pops up. HoneyGate's commands start to appear as you type — for example/xpto check your rank, or/queststo see your goals. Most replies are private to you (only you see them), so they don't clutter the channel. - On the web, at your member portal. Log in at honeygate.app with Discord and you'll get your own page showing your level, rewards, leaderboards, quests, and game stats. See The member portal.
The headline things you can do
- Earn rewards for being active — chatting, reacting, and joining voice calls earn you XP and Points. See Earn XP & Points.
- Level up and unlock roles — your activity builds levels, and levels can unlock special roles. See Levels & rewards.
- Complete quests — bite-sized goals for extra rewards. See Quests & daily tasks.
- Play games — trivia, prediction calls, last-one-standing battles, and more. See The games.
- Build a reputation — your activity across every HoneyGate server adds up to a public profile you can show off. See Your profile & reputation.
If your community is built around a crypto token or NFT collection, you may also be asked to connect a wallet so you can get holder roles. That's optional and explained in Connect a wallet.
A tip: ask HoneyBot
If you're ever unsure how something works, the chat bubble in the corner of honeygate.app is HoneyBot. Ask it a question in plain English and it'll answer.
