Keep people engaged
Turn one-time visitors into regulars with levels, quests, daily check-ins, and leaderboards.
Growth only counts if people stay. HoneyGate's engagement features give members small, repeatable reasons to come back. Here's how to use them as a retention system.
Give activity a visible payoff: levels & rewards
Leveling (Free) turns everyday participation into visible progress. Role rewards make that progress mean something: access, a colour, a status. Map a few meaningful levels to roles people actually want.
Give them a reason to return daily: quests & check-ins
- Quests (Pro). A couple of daily goals create a "I'll just pop in" habit. A weekly stretch goal rewards your most committed members. Check-ins can complete quests, so the two feed each other.
- Daily check-ins build streaks, and streaks are sticky. People don't like breaking them. Rewards grow with the streak, and a Streak Shield saves a streak when someone misses a single day, so one busy Tuesday doesn't undo a month of habit. Members check in on their portal or with
/checkin.
Add some fun: the games
The built-in games are free and create shared moments: trivia, prediction calls, last-one-standing, social deduction, and more. Run one during a quiet stretch to spark the channel back to life.
Make momentum visible: leaderboards
Leaderboards turn participation into friendly competition. Members see where they rank in your server (by XP) and across the whole HoneyGate network (by Points), which nudges them to climb. Call out top members now and then. Recognition is a powerful reward, and it's free.
A retention loop that works
- Members earn XP for taking part.
- XP earns levels and roles (the visible payoff).
- Quests and check-ins give daily reasons to return.
- Leaderboards and games make it social and competitive.
- Recognition (shout-outs, a "Regular" role) closes the loop.
Set up two or three of these rather than all at once, and watch which ones your community responds to.
