Giveaways
Run click-to-enter giveaways in one click, with optional alt-blocking, trust-weighted odds (Pro), and cross-server pools.
Post a prize, members click Enter, and HoneyGate draws the winners when time runs out. That's the whole loop. Basic giveaways are free. Multi-server giveaways are Pro.
Setting up a giveaway
In the admin panel, create a giveaway with:
- The prize (just describe it).
- The channel to post in.
- The number of winners.
- The end time.
- (Optional) A required role, so only members who have it can enter. Handy for "subscribers only" or holder-only draws.
- (Optional) Exclude alts, which skips accounts flagged by alt detection so one person can't enter twice.
- (Optional, Pro) Weight winners by cross-server trust. Trusted regulars get a slightly better chance of winning (see below).
Member experience
Members see the giveaway embed with a live countdown and the entry count, then click Enter. Winners get an announcement and a DM.
Need to manage a giveaway in progress? Two slash commands:
/giveaway end <id>— ends the giveaway immediately and draws winners right now, before the timer runs out. The giveaway ID was shown when you ran/giveaway start./giveaway reroll <id>— picks a new set of winners from everyone who entered but hasn't won yet. Use this when an original winner doesn't respond or can't claim the prize. You can reroll multiple times; each pass skips anyone who already won.
The "block alts" advantage
Turn on Exclude alts and someone running five accounts can't grab five entries. It keeps the draw fair. (This needs alt detection enabled to have any effect.)
Trust-weighted draws (Pro)
Turn on Weight winners by cross-server trust and the draw gives your long-standing, trusted members a slightly better chance of winning. It reads their cross-server reputation, the same trust score shown on their passport.
Think of it as a raffle where a trusted regular holds a few tickets and a brand-new account holds one. Nobody is ever excluded. Every entrant always keeps a real chance to win. A fresh account just can't out-luck the people who actually show up. It's a gentle nudge, not a lock-out: a top-tier member gets up to 6 tickets to a newcomer's 1. That makes prize-farming with throwaway accounts a losing strategy.
Off by default. Giveaways you don't turn it on for are drawn with plain equal odds, exactly as before. On very large entry pools the draw automatically falls back to equal odds so winners are always picked on time.
Trust weighting works everywhere you run a giveaway: the regular admin-panel giveaways, cross-server giveaways (where the network-wide trust score is an especially natural fit), and the /giveaway slash command in Discord (set weight_by_trust to True when you start one).
Cross-server giveaways (Pro)
With cross-server giveaways, several communities can run one joint giveaway whose entries pool across all the connected servers. It's a strong way to co-promote with partner communities. One server hosts and the others opt in. The same optional alt-blocking and trust-weighted odds work here too. Because both the entry pool and the reputation score span the whole network, they're at their strongest on a cross-server draw.
Tips
- Keep end times clear. The countdown shows members exactly when it closes.
- Pair a required role with a level or holder role to reward your most engaged members.
